December is traditionally the time of the year when we all take our eye off the ball, make poorer nutritional choices and move less. Then we hit the January gym rush and New Year’s resolutions period!! This is when we are all motivated and raring to go. We have a spring in our step and are promising ourselves we are going to get into the best shape of our lives!!
March soon arrives…Motivation levels drop, the new eating plan starts to drift and we begin to fall back into those bad habits! I look at March from a totally different angle; it’s the perfect training window to put together an action plan to get into the best shape of your life ready for the summer ahead.
I believe that by making a few simple mindset changes we can improve and regain our motivation… instead of making long term plans and setting long term target, we need to put in place three small achievable goals each week.
They could be something as simple as, today I am not going to have any chocolate or I am going to exercise three times this week. By setting smaller more realistic goals we achieve them and feel good about it. I’ve found by doing this I then set more achievable goals equalling long term success!
